Pyramid Tower, Sunway Lagoon, Kuala Lumpur

Wednesday, 29 October 2008

This is my first time to the Pyramid Tower and I managed to take quick shots of the following:

Entrance to Sunway Lagoon

Roller coaster in Sunway Lagoon

Indoor Ice Skating Rind - the skaters looked like ants from the top floor of the shopping mall.

Classmates and Food

Friday, 24 October 2008

Two of the things I enjoy doing, apart from sightseeing, during holidays are visiting with relatives, friends and trying out food (but no good in remembering their names).

Today I am very happy I got to visit with a close friend who is also my ex classmate and had dinner together at the the Signature Food Court at Suria KLCC. Couldn't make up my mind what to eat. Every stall was different and the food looked nice.

I have been to Ipoh a long long time ago. It is famous for food but I couldn't remember what I had eaten before. So when Sha suggested trying the Ipoh noodles I agreed.

Sha ordered for Curry Noodles while I being, spicy and oily conscious, ordered for some kind of Fish Ball Noodles soup. Tasted the Curry Noodles, it wasn't as spicy and oily as I thought it would be. I think I would have enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed my noodle soup.

I think I have not seen Masni for about 10 years. She still look the same to me. I am so glad that Sha took me to visit her this morning.

It was so nice to see Mag. We haven't met for 37 years! Reading through her school autograph was fun. Sha & I decided to sign again! I had signed on the 25 September 1971 and today I wrote again. Isn't that something?

We had lunch at Jusco Mid-Valley. It is famous for its Penang Assam Laksa. Mag had Curry Noodles. It looked delicious.

Sha & I had the Penang Assam Laksa, which I don't know why I didn't take a picture at all!

I think we sat there for almost 2 hours, just catching up!

I smsed another classmate that we were having lunch at mid-valley. And being a health conscious and caring friend always, KK replied: Take plenty more greens n fruits. Hv a pleasant get2gether n return hom early n safely. He is so sweet!

What is this? Looking downwards from a floor in an apartment in Jalan Ipoh.

Nike Shoes

Thursday, 16 October 2008

Nike shoes? Genuine? I don't know. Someone passed them to me 2 years ago. It started to cracked last year and then the sole started to detach recently. Maybe because of the exposure in different weather - humid, wet, dry, hot and cold, etc.

The detachment was only at the tip and a little side of the right shoe so I thought it was alright to wear them today. It got worst but not as bad as the following picture after I walked up the hill at Jalan Bukit Pantai.

And later got worst and worst until I have to tear off the sole of the right shoe and walked with my right side maybe a cm or so shorter, until I changed to a new pair of shoes at Ampang Park.

72-Hour Emergency Kit

Sunday, 5 October 2008

I didn't bother about it when Yean said we need to have our 72-hour emergency kit ready by October something. I didn't pay attention either to the date he mentioned until the branch presidency gathered the Priesthood and the Relief Society after today's sacrament meeting. Branch President Renner reminded members that it was now several weeks since he first said to prepare and he would not remind them again. Members will receive calls to assemble at the church before the week is over, and to treat it as real emergency situation. He wouldn't say what day. The parable of the 10 virgins was brought up.

Friday, 10 October 2008

We have prepared. Yean and I packed most of the things by Tuesday 8 October and completed today. I know I should have the kit ready, to grab and go anytime, by Monday because natural disasters have no respect to time.

Putting my thinking cap as a leader, I think our leaders wanted to instill the sense of importance in this matter, to be prepared all the time, as counselled by our Prophets. Flash floods are common in Malaysia and floods that last for a few days have happened in the past and it would happen again - catching us unexpectedly.

Saturday, 11 October 2008

Yean's cellphone vibrated at around 1 something in the afternoon. We got to the church about 2 pm. Traffic is bad in Kuala Lumpur and I guess maybe it is like that on a Saturday afternoon.

If it was a real situation and it was flooding, there is no way we would be able to get out of this apartment! We might have to climb to the roof!

At the church - making yourself at home with the 72-hour emergency kit

It was only a branch activity!
